The Historical Coolabah Tree is located on the right after passing through the causeway on your way to the Hughenden Showground. It has enormous historical significance because it is linked to two relief expeditions looking for the Burke and Wills Expedition. Both expeditions are thought to have blazed the tree on the banks of what is now Station Creek. People became aware of the fertility and wealth of the plains adjacent to the Flinders River as a result of these relief expeditions. This tree has been preserved as a memorial to the brave explorers who explored this land.
